Hello dear visitor!
So, this site is running smoother and smoother, thanks to Ville aka Horppana. What a great chap! Some of you have noticed that I’ve got a new Facebook-profile and a Twitter-page, where I can quickly inform you guys even from the road. If you got a FB-profile, please join mine to get the latest news and not so important tweets I’ll be sending ev’ry now and then. The guestbook is also renewed, because the old one was so easy to hack and someone surely did hack it! We’ll try to add the archive of the old gb, so the precious messages won’t be lost.
The upcoming fourth Teräsbetoni-album is progressing well. Most basic tracks are already recorded and five vocal tracks as well. Vili and Arto are going to play little add-ons and solos at home, since it worked well on our last album. All I can say, is that I feel this music. We’ve come a long way, and we’re better than ever. You can surely recognize us immediatly when you hear the songs, but there’s also something new…substantial there.
Oulu All Star Big Band featuring J.Ahola-album is finally mastered. Just to remind you, we’ve done new versions of old heavy rock classics and you can check out how it sounds like from the YouTube. I’ve already heard the master and I’m very pleased with the results. The band sounds as it should: groovy and “horny”, hah, and I’m standing in the middle and just singing. No overdubs, no vocal harmonies, no tricks – just plain vocals. In these days, when the possibilites to digitally mould sound is almost boundless, I think it is refreshing just to play and sing. I’ll let you know when the album is out.
